So I get home today and there is a big ol' box waiting for me. It's from burgers smokehouse, marked open immediately. hmm. address is right but the name is covered by shipped lable. well you know I open it up! what do I find? A $84 smoked ham, that's what! only thing I can find on the box as a hint who it belongs to is "Merry christmas for [redacted name of out of state mining company]" still no name to whom this ham is to belong!

Kinja'd!!!

look at that bad boy.

So any ways, whats my responsibilities here? Do I just keep it and never mention it? do I make an effort to find out whom it belongs to? what do I do Oppo, what ould Oppo do?

I'd call up the out-of-state mining company and mention what happened. I doubt they will pay to have it shipped to them from you anyway. Especially since it is temperature sensitive.

And don't forget to ham it up when you talk to them!

I mean yeah, that's kind of what I'm thinking too. I mean namely I don;t wanna get in trouble here but I also don't want who ever was suppose to get this ham to go with out.. But the thing was mostly thawed so really I doubt any one wants it now. It was still ice in the center so it's totally good to go! and I wont lie, I wanna eat this bad boy.

I mean do you know the company?

Either way you can't really get in trouble. It had your address and you can just say you didn't notice a name since the address was right, and that you haven't done anything to it.

Plus it said open immediately, so if you didn't it would have gone bad.

You can just say you've saved it in your fridge for them if they want it, since it would have gone bad otherwise.

Turkey is a Thanksgiving thing. Christmas is open season on ham, roast beef, game hens, turkey...

So many turkeys are downed for thanksgiving we turn to the pigs for our next holiday bloodlust to prevent the turkeys extinction.

fair enough. I've just never heard of it on American tv shows. Apparently it was brought about to make sure Jewish converts to Christianity were super-serious about Jesus.

That makes sense, but nobody will find it odd if you don't eat ham on Christmas. AS long as it's not some vegan tofu crap, you're good.

city ham? what teh heck is city ham. BTW country ham is vile. It smells like a bunch of wet dogs concetrated down to some kind of pungent cologne.

vegan ham isn't so good.

one of my good friends is a Vegan 'butcher' and she makes some damn good fake meat. Vegan veal was something of a strange mindfuck.
